Detailed Description
Valcom's AS-3957 dipole antenna is a rugged mast supported vertically polarized broadband antenna covering the frequency range of 969-1206 MHz. Specifically designed for the U.S Army's JTIDS program.
The antenna is designed for use under severe environmental conditions. The radiating elements are housed in a single piece fibreglass radome with an integral aluminum mounting spigot.

The antenna can handle up to 1000 Watts peak envelope power and 500 Watts average RF power over the entire frequency range with a VSWR of less than 2.0:1. The RF input connector is a N-TYPE receptacle located on the side of the fibreglass radome.
The antenna meets all the requirements of MIL-STD-810. including method 516-2 for shock, and method 514.2 for vibration as well as all the service conditions of MIL-E-16400. A lightning protection device is installed int he antenna and protects against high voltage build up and EMP.
